The Holly Theater offers year-round performance options for youth in the Dahlonega area through our Holly Performance Academy. We have a full range of summer camps for ages 3-18, and offer after-school productions.

Senior performance camp- Mary Poppins Jr

Has your student been itching to learn about what it means to put on a musical production?
During this camp, they will spend two weeks learning blocking, choreography, and music, followed by two weekends of performances for the general public. These shows will be complete with lights, sound, costumes, set pieces, and props. We welcome veterans and theatrical newcomers alike, so please don’t let skill level deter from auditioning!

The Holly Performance Academy’s Exploration Camps allow students to learn a little about the art of theatre and get a taste of what it’s like to be onstage. This camp will be centered around various Disney classic songs, such as “You’ve Got A Friend In Me”, “How Far I’ll Go”, and “Fixer Upper”. Students will also create crafts, learn about the process of theatre, and play theatre games. At the end of the camps, the students will present a private performance for invited family members and guests.

Improv Camp- Beginners
Welcome to an Introduction to Improv! This class is full of high-energy fun and creativity!
You will learn the foundational elements of improvisation, while also exploring varying ranges of emotion, physicality, and listening skills. In this class, you will learn how to take risks, build trust with others, and have some ridiculously spontaneous fun! Improv is a great way to get introduced to theatre and acting, as well as sharpening your communication skills to be successful in activities outside of the theatre or just for everyday life! And the best part is, you don’t need any experience at all! Improv is for everyone! The possibilities are endless once you enter the world of improvisation! At the end of the camp, there will be a private performance for friends and family to show them what you’ve learned. Come join Tim Pruitt, founder of Take This! Comedy on this journey, which ends with your very own improv show!
