The Holly Theater offers year-round performance options for youth in the Dahlonega area through our Holly Performance Academy. We have a full range of summer camps for ages 3-18, and offer after-school productions.

Technical Theatre Camp

Ever wonder how the lights, sounds, costumes, and sets bring a show to life? Step behind the curtain and discover the magic of technical theatre! Campers grades 6-12 will explore areas such as lighting, sound effects, costumes, props, and set design — then put their new skills on display during performances of Newsies Jr.

Junior Art Camp
Behind the Scenes Magic
1-6 grades (for the 2026-2027 school year)
Unleash your creativity and bring the world of theatre to life! In this hands-on camp, students will dive into the art of prop creation, scenic painting, and more. Working together, they’ll learn real stagecraft techniques used to make stories shine on stage.
The week will conclude with a special gallery showcase where friends and family can admire the campers’ imaginative creations and behind-the-scenes magic!

Directing Camp
In The Director’s Chair
Ages: 12-16 (must be entering 6 grade or higher for the 2026-2027 school year)
Step into the director’s chair and bring the magic to life! In this hands-on camp, students will take charge of Puffs (One Act for Young Wizards)—casting, staging, and shaping the story with their own creative vision. From blocking scenes to guiding performances, campers will learn the art of directing while having a blast in the hilarious, heart-filled world of young wizards who just want to do their best.
The week ends with a showcase of select scenes from their magically directed production!

Super Sleuth Camp
Ages: 7-12
Calling all junior detectives! Join us for a fun-filled week of theatre, mystery, and imagination as we work together to solve an interactive mystery! Campers ages 7–12 will use their acting skills, creative thinking, and teamwork to create a story to stump their audience.
The week wraps up with a special interactive performance, where families are invited to watch our young detectives present their mystery-solving adventure!

Once Upon A Stage
Ages 4-7
Let your child’s imagination take center stage! In “Once Upon a Stage”, our youngest performers will explore the magic of theatre through stories, songs, movement, and creative play. Each day, campers will step into a new adventure — becoming brave heroes, silly creatures, and magical friends as they learn to express themselves and work together.
The week ends with a short, joy-filled showcase where families are invited to see their little stars shine on stage!

Jump into the fun of improvisation! In this camp, students will learn to think fast, be creative, and work together through games, skits, and silly scenarios. There’s no script — just laughter, imagination, and teamwork as campers explore the basics of improv and build confidence on stage.
The week ends with a mini showcase, where campers perform short, fun improv scenes for family and friends!

Anyone ages 18-100
Take your improv skills to the next level! In this camp for actors ages 18 to 100, campers will explore improv games, scene work, character creation, and storytelling techniques. Focused on creativity, teamwork, and quick thinking, this camp challenges performers to think on their feet and elevate their stage presence.
The week culminates in a fun, unscripted showcase where campers perform their most hilarious and inventive scenes for family and friends!
