What to prepare and expect at auditions:

  • Please prepare a short monologue (try to keep it to around 1 minute) from one of Shakespeare’s comedies.
  • We will be seeing everyone in an audition group all at once, so we recommend arriving approximately 10 minutes prior to your group’s audition time.
  • Each actor in the audition group will be asked to perform their monologue one at a time. After this, the entire group will be asked to read selections from the script with each other. In order to help you prepare, you can find these audition sides here.

To Do Prior to Auditions:

  1. Complete your audition form prior to arriving at auditions.
  2. Sign up for an audition group.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:

**All Roles are open to individuals of all racial backgrounds and gender identities.**

**Performers use their own names in the show, however we have indicated the names that each track is marked as in the script so that actors can see which track correlates with which lines.**

TRACK 1 – Listed in the script as “DANIEL” – The unwitting center of the group. Just as madcap and energetic as the others, but often finds that they are the one keeping the train from flying fully off the rails. Success in this endeavor is usually elusive.

TRACK 2 – Listed in the script as “JESS” – The group’s “preeminent Shakespearean scholar”. Dignified. Reverent. Takes this very seriously… until they don’t.

TRACK 3 – Listed in the script as “ADAM” – A haphazard goofball. An agent of chaos who wears their heart on their sleeve. Not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed.
