The Holly Theater offers year-round performance options for youth in the Dahlonega area through our Holly Performance Academy. We have a full range of summer camps for ages 3-18, and offer after-school productions.
Audition Techniques Workshop
Join us for a fun, interactive workshop where young performers will learn how to prepare their song and dance, calm those pre-audition jitters, and show off their unique personality! Perfect for young performers that are getting ready for upcoming auditions or just starting out and for seasoned veterans who want to brush up on their technique!
AGES: 8-18 (must not be a high school graduate)
COST: FREE!
WHEN: Saturday, December 13 from 2-5 pm; Please plan to have your student stay for the whole session.
LOCATION: The Holly Theatre, 69 W Main St., Dahlonega, GA 30533
INSTRUCTORS: Stephanie Garrett and Taylor Jarrard
What to expect during the workshop:
- Please prepare 30-45 seconds of any musical theatre song. Bring a karaoke track with no accompanying voices to sing along with. A speaker will be provided.
- You will learn a short dance. Please dress appropriately.
- You will be asked to read scenes from a production.
You will then be given feedback from your instructors, and you may be asked to perform your song, dance, or scene again. Remember: this is a safe space! Mistakes are okay. You’re here to ask questions and learn, and we’re here to teach. By the end of this workshop, our hope is that you leave feeling confident and ready to audition for your next show!
